Brand Introduction:

Plaintiff, Emily Holmes, is the owner of the Copyright Registrations that protect the creative content of the Emily Holmes Works. Holmes is an illustrator who creates mid-century and vintage-inspired stationery, fine paper goods, and gifts. Her love for drawing started at a young age. She was always carrying felt tips and wads of paper, endlessly drawing girl bands and rows of shops. Her obsession with drawing was then accompanied by a new fascination for fashion and photography. She began studying illustration in college, where she combined her interests of photography, illustration, and vintage textiles to create the designs seen today. She opened her Etsy store towards the end of her degree to earn some extra money, but it took off in 2016 and her illustration brand Emy Lou Holmes was born. To fund the early stages of my brand, she took a part time job a local stationery store. Learning about business and paper products inspired her to pursue the retail world even further, and now she works with over 30 stores and sells her work internationally.
