MR BEAN is a British sitcom that ran from 1990-1995. Starring the eponymous character, developed and played by actor Rowan Atkinson, the series followed Mr. Bean as he solved various problems presented by mundane everyday tasks. Described as “a child in a grown man’s body” by Mr. Atkinson, the character Mr. Bean has experienced widespread acclaim. Mr. Bean has been broadcast in hundreds of territories worldwide and generates strong appeal extraterritorially as it uses very little intelligible dialogue, making it accessible to people who know little or no English. The success of the sitcom lead to an animated series, multiple feature films and a widely publicized appearance by Mr. Atkinson at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
