She is a self-professed creative explorer, dabbling in a number of creative pursuits but always returning to her true passion of ink and color. Drawing unrealistic creatures and flowers has been something she has done since she was a small child. After spending five years working in ocean charting and then fifteen years as a graphic designer, she has honed her childish scribbles into the graphic and intricate style it is today. Van Dam creates her works using acrylic paints and inks, applying them with both brush and fountain pen. She markets her creations under the name, “Hello Angel,” and she has also published thirteen bestselling coloring books. With her imagination and surroundings for inspiration, Van Dam hopes her imagery provides her audience with hours of relaxing enjoyment and creative happiness
