Deftones is an influential American band from Sacramento, California. The band was formed in 1988 by Chino Moreno (frontman), Stephen Carpenter (lead guitarist), Abe Cunningham (drummer), and the late Chi Cheng (bassist). White Pony, Deftones’ 2000 landmark album, earned Platinum certification from the RIAA, signifying over 1 million units sold in the United States, and received Gold certifications from the ARIA, BPI, and MC, recognizing significant sales in Australia, the United Kingdom, and Canada, respectively. Moreover, Deftones has had several songs, and four albums, make an impact on the Billboard 200 charts.
