Andrey Prokhorov is a freelance photographer and portraitist. He served in the army and later worked as an economist and government official for 26 years before he became a freelance photographer. He has participated in various art exhibitions and has published his works as illustrations in various children’s books.
Prokhorov prefers photographing subjects that he knows and loves, such as his children and two cats. He believes that portraits are intimate moments and it’s important to show his subjects as they really are without any masks. He photographs most of his original works in black and white as it provides more opportunities to paint with light by manipulating light and shadows.
