Brand Introduction:
Plaintiff, Lynn Bywaters, is the owner of the Copyright Registrations that protect the creative content of the Lynn Bywaters Works. Bywaters is an illustrator who creates original drawings and paintings for greeting cards and children’s books. She also designs a signature line of collectible figurines for Lenox. She has licensed her work for use on a variety of products, including puzzles, prints, gift bags, and tins. She is inspired by myths, stories, legends, animals, holiday stories and characters, elements of nature, interesting lighting, food, people, and more. Most of her finely detailed paintings are small and completed in gouache on cold press paper. Because of their extreme detail, they can be enlarged many times over without losing their integrity. For over 30 years she has worked as a freelance artist, having worked on a number of projects such as greeting cards, book illustrations, and collectible figurines, including an Easter Egg commissioned by the Reagan administration which has since been admitted to the Smithsonian’s permanent collection.
