Missman is an artist who creates traditional and realistic paintings, often inspired by faith, Christmas, and the natural beauty of the world. His artistic style, which he calls poetic realism, is a culmination of his innate talent, deep passion, and over fifty years of dedicated study and observation. Missman first recognized the transcendent power of art at age fourteen while viewing an original Rembrandt painting. At twenty-one, he committed to a spiritual life as a monk. For the next eighteen years, his spiritual order fostered his artistic endeavors, providing him with extensive opportunities for advanced study and international travel, all while dedicating many hours a day to painting. Missman’s extensive formal training includes the Angelo Frudakis Academy of Classic Realism, the Barnstone Studios, a private art academy in Italy, and the La Jolla Atheneum and Watts Atelier. His work has been acquired by a range of collectors, including museums, corporations, celebrities, former monarchs, and prominent art collectors across the United States and Asia.
