Her favorite medium is oil, but she also enjoys working in watercolor, pastel, and acrylic. 

Giacomini earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and she has furthered her artistic education over the years by attending numerous classes and workshops. She has also taught art since the early 2000s. Her art has won numerous awards and been exhibited in several national galleries.
